Guidelines for acknowledgements:
Please acknowledge the IMSC for mass spectrometry and data analysis when appropriate. A suggested formulation is "Mass spectrometry analyses were performed at the Interfaculty Mass Spectrometry Center, University of Groningen'. Acknowledgements of specific IMSC staff members are also highly appreciated.
Guidelines for coauthorships:
Scientific contributions during the planning, and execution of MS experiments and subsequent data analysis would justify an authorship on the manuscript resulting from the data. This is particularly relevant for contributions in the form of method development, figure and manuscript preparation, and substantial data analysis.
Acknowledgements and coauthorships are independent from the user fees that contribute to the running costs of the IMSC. They are important for the accountability and visibility of the IMSC and its staff, and in this way help to get support for investments in new instrumentation and infrastructure.
